AT&T and Best Buy now taking Pre-Orders on the Galaxy Note
The big and bad 5.3-inch phone/tablet that has been so popular overseas has finally made it onto US soil, well sort of. You can’t officially get it yet but you can pre-order it. When you pre-order, it’s set for delivery on February 17th, so it’s just a little bit to late for Valentine’s day.
The Note is big, bad, and just what a lot of folks are looking for, something the size of the Dell Streak but with newer, faster hardware. It’s huge as a phone, but has enough size to it that it could function as a tablet for many. The lure of carrying one device to cover both use cases is bound to attract quite a few folks, and the fact that LTE data is built into the unit is certainly a big plus, but the downside of LTE is for those of you who were not grandfathered into unlimited data. The rest of the specs are certainly no slouch either. That 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen has a 1280×800 HD resolution, there’s a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor (word is it’s the same Qualcomm as in the Skyrocket), a 2500mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and Samsung’s excellent 8MP camera all running Android 2.3.5.
In the Galaxy Note we’ve seen the battery last pretty long for a huge 5.3-inch device but then that has on a GSM/HSPA+ device. This one is coming with LTE so it’s bound to make battery life a bit shorter. We all know how awesome the battery life is on Verizon’s 4G LTE devices right? Pretty horrible to be exact. Don’t forget to check out our hands on of the AT&T Galaxy Note from CES last month in the mean time.
